Located in the heart of Porto is this wonderful Art Nouveau delicatessen, founded in 1917 and stacked high with every sort of food item traditional of Portugal! On one side it says "Cafe" and on the other..."Cha" or tea. A Pérola Do Bolhão means "The Pearl of the Bolhão". The Bolhão is a 19th century wrought iron market where earthy vendors sell fresh produce, including cheeses, olives, smoked meats and fresh flowers. The woman in her traditional costume is a replica of a vintage postcard portraying Portuguese traditional folk costumes. This one is from the Minho area in the north of Portugal. This brooch comes with a genuine Escudo coin, which is no longer in circulation since the switch to the Euro many years ago.
The brooch is made from Polymer Clay and measures 4" x 2" or 10 x 5 cm. Waterproof and lightweight. Handmade in Portugal.
Take a little bit of Portugal home with you!
